If you follow my writing then you know that I have been a little more than heavy-handed in highlighting modern office design lately. I absolutely love it and often find inspiration within that medium. However, today, I wanted to break the cycle and go completely against the grain and touch on a traditional office design.

While several of our partners have some great traditional office design elements, I will be focusing in on just one brand partner and only one of their office furniture series. That partner we will be discussing is Office Star Products and their Townsend series of traditional office designed office furniture. Before we get into it, let’s look at the mission statement from Office Star Products-

“At Office Star Products, we measure success by each relationship our business builds. Together, we make lifelong industry friends through respect, trust, loyalty and a handshake. We think these values are essential to expanding our customer base and growing meaningful product lines.

Good friends, soaring customer appreciation and long-time associates locally and abroad make us a diverse, vital company with the resources capable of offering superior furnishings from across the globe. We thrive on great design, innovation and customer service and our passion is to offer a continual variety of well crafted, well-conceived products delivered where you need it, when you need it, with a guarantee that rivals the industry.”

Concerning the Townsend series, Office Star Products’s goal is to deliver “Traditional elegance. Thoughtful detailing. Careful consideration to workplace needs.”

So what do we expect from a traditional office design’s office furniture? According to Office Furniture Inc, traditional office design is “…all about cohesion. Traditional style truly dedicates itself to a singular idea within a space. Wooden aspects are mainly darker toned or aged woods. While fabrics burst with color in vibrant prints of floral, stripes, and plaids. The artwork is often custom, intricate designs including sculptures and oil paintings. Traditional is very steeped in days gone by, an almost nostalgic feel.”

In fact, the Townsend series fits the traditional office design definition perfectly as all the office furniture is constructed from a hardwood veneer and it has solid wood picture-frame molding in a Royal Cherry finish. Let’s take a look at the reception desk from the Townsend series from Office Star Products.

Traditional Reception Desk

Traditional Office Design- Reception Desk

Measuring 72"W x 37"D x 30”H with a 45.5” transaction counter height, which is a medium sized reception desk. Placing this traditional office design reception desk in the front of your business is a beacon of things to come. Instantly, visitors are greeted with a stately focal point from the first step into the business. More than any other style, a traditional office design stands out as a commitment to a timeless aesthetic and this very first look into the office furniture of the Townsend series is a perfect example of this. My personal favorite aspect of this office furniture is the parquet design on all the veneer worksurfaces. This is a perfect first step into the business but now let’s look at the desks that fill in the offices beyond.

Traditional Office Design- Desks

Executive Office Desk
L Shaped Executive Desk With Bookcase
U Shaped Executive Desk With Hutch

Above are three examples of the Office Star Products Townsend series desks that are found on the online marketplace of Madison Liquidators. The entire series is considered to be “executive desks” which means that they can be found in the big office of many businesses across the country, but can serve anyone in a traditional office design. Beginning with a pedestal desk this traditional office design desk series promotes exactly what you would expect from office furniture for a business in this style. However, there are also more modern designed desk styles to keep up with the times. You have options for L shaped and U shaped desks with varying storage styles. Each of these desk options are perfect for a traditional office design in modern times. No one will feel behind the times with these excellently designed workstations. That’s the best part of this series to me, the natural blending of modern office needs with traditional styling. A traditional office design U shaped desk with a hutch may have been unheard of a century ago, and honestly wouldn’t have fit many office spaces then; but today, office workers are always looking for them. They truly are the best of both worlds.

Some of the pertinent details of this series is that it is finished in Royal Cherry which is exactly what you would expect of your office furniture for a traditional office design. Featuring wood veneer base trim and decorative pilasters along with solid wood picture-frame molding. A nice touch is the three inch thick shaped edge profile with that unique parquet design on all veneer worksurfaces. Office Star Products has matching filing cabinets, storage cabinets and tables that can be purchased to compliment the entire series. The Townsend series traditional office design office furniture is backed by a three year manufacturer’s warranty by Office Star Products.

If you see a traditional desk from the Townsend series by Office Star Products and are ready to order, give us a call to get the ball rolling. Of course, if you have questions about traditional office design, our customer support team is available as well. Our number is (608) 839-7219, we look forward to hearing from you!
